It’s just a scarf

Can we really expect the world abroad to think highly of us when we do things as silly and thoughtless as attributing a scarf with terrorism?  Have we stooped that low as a nation?

On the evolution of the third branch

Bill Moyers did a segment this past weekend on the weight of the next Presidential election, with respect to possibly three, inevitable departures on the US supreme court.  A reference is made to the recent “60 Minutes” appearance by Antonin Scalia.  The entire interview can be seen in the YouTube clips below.

A planned revolt at the Republican national convention?

Keep in mind, the LP national convention was held last weekend, with Bob Barr winning the nomination.  Despite my misgivings about Barr’s true motives, and Christine Smith’s comments (sorry, I could only find the reaction to her comments), I think the Republican party will certainly suffer when presented with alternatives to McSame.
