Pro-life President approves death penalty for soldier

Today, President Bush approved a death sentence for Pvt. Ronald Gray, after 20 years on death row in Ft. Leavenworth.
So I ask, why is a self-proclaimed, “pro-life” politician in such favor of killing? Let me get this straight:

Killing babies = bad
Killing anyone else = good
