Here comes more gun control

Blair Holt’s Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009

This bill is now circulating its way through Congress.  A detailed explanation can be found here:

Blair Holt’s Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009 – Amends
the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act to prohibit a person from
possessing a firearm unless that person has been issued a firearm
license under this Act or a state system certified under
this Act and such license has not been invalidated or revoked.
Prescribes license application, issuance, and renewal requirements.

Prohibits transferring or receiving a qualifying firearm unless the recipient presents a valid firearms license, the license is verified, and the dealer records a tracking authorization number. Prescribes firearms transfer reporting and record keeping requirements. Directs the Attorney General to establish and maintain a federal record of sale system.

Thought for the Day

Political Word of the Day: Prattle

Prattle \Prat"tle\, v. t.
To utter as prattle; to babble; as, to prattle treason.
   --Addison.
   [1913 Webster]

By the way Dick, I’m not sure that Joan is that charitable.

Day 380

You’ll have to forgive me if my math is wrong…I’m still adjusting to 380 days sober.  Life has been quite pleasant since I let sobriety get the better of me.  If you’re teetering on that initially, slippery slope right now, I highly recommend the 20/20 vision that comes from a sober mind’s eye  – we’re all going to need it for this financial calamity.
