Pelosi’s penchant for pampering

House leader Nancy Pelosi is catching an awful lot of flack for what sounds like a MAC filght, a service available to all active duty military employees. I would imagine that riding on one of these flights is considerably less expensive than otherwise providing government employees with private air travel vouchers. But our public servants on Capitol Hill should be concentrating on more important issues, such as Iraq.

What’s in a name?

I can’t help but comment on the overzealous nature of individuals who choose to label everyone and everything. Case in point, Barack Obama. Is the outrage warranted from blacks who contend that Obama cannot call himself black because he’s not descended from slaves? I thought this whole notion of “african-american” denoted color alone? When it comes down do it, aren’t we all mutts?

Thinking of saying hasta-la-vista to Microsoft?

I have been dabbling in Linux for years, but the rise of Ubuntu and Suse Linux has created a believer in me. I imagine a day soon when commercials such as this go national. In contrast, Microsoft’s $500 million dollar ad campaign to remind all Windows users that the name of the game is “pay the toll.” The cost of this new operating system might leave you feeling “wow, I spent money on this, again?”
